The cavernous depths of Londons 12Bar Club hold more sinister secrets than first meets the eye. For one night only, a select captive audience will be treated to a thrilling spectacle of the most melodramatic order. Academy Award winning actress Julie anne McCambridge makes a rare appearance in what has been called the most chilling performance since Mark accidentally left the fire doors open on New Years Eve. Witness an accurate re-enactment of Mary Kellys final hours. Gasp, as her blood-curdling screams echo along the alley beside Andys Guitar Shop. Wonder, as members of the audience are invited to deduce the true identity of Jack the Ripper, with help from her backing band. Feast on delicious Tacos and other traditional Victorian fancies, served by genuine East London Cor Blimey bar staff. The Grim Facts On the Ninth of November 1888, the mutilated body of Mary Jane Kelly was discovered in a room in a back alley in Whitechapel. This was the last of half a dozen horrific murders attributed to the fiend commonly known as Jack the Ripper. The Grim Fiction Several plays, movies and books have tried to reconstruct the fatal moment when the unfortunate Mary breathes her last. But where others have failed, Julie anne has succeeded in producing the most convincing portrayal yet attempted. No Detail Overlooked The dingy 12Bar Club is not only frequented by drunken low-life and prostitutes, but is exactly the same size as the lodgings of Miss Kelly in Whitechapel. Julie anne McCambridge will be wearing the actual authentic Victorian dress that the Rippers last victim wore on the night of the killing by Lysette Anthony in the television dramatisation of Jack the Ripper in 1988. About the Players This evenings cast includes several stars from the world of tv and stage including a drummer who has appeared in an episode of The Bill and a guitarist who featured in an advert for Baron Menswear of Brixton. In her research for the role, Julie anne herself has been on the Official Jack the Ripper Walk, got drunk at the Ten Bells Pub, and watched the movie Murder by Decree several times. Her new album Scars and Blood will be available in the shops soon. You have been warned The management cannot be held responsible for any severe reactions or nightmares brought on by a visit to the 12Bar Club. Patrons of an impressionable disposition are advised to cover their eyes and ears throughout the performance. |
