saintmatilda.jpg (34594 bytes) There have been many Matildas over the years, so we shall start with Saint Matilda, who was born in the Ninth Century AD. Brought up as a nun, she later married King Henry 'the Fowler' of Saxony and had several children by him, including a son named Henry the Quarrelsome. After the King's death, dead Henry's eldest son, Otto, betrayed Matilda, accusing her of financial mismanagement. Matilda is patron saint of many groups, including falsely accused people, disappointing children and widows. Now why would Julie anne associate herself with any of these?
